Galatians 1:6-10

6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

I really do love these verses. It is so fitting for the times that we live in now. Over the last few months, we have gone from one crisis to another while still dealing with the crisis from before. We are seeing the true colors in others and ourselves as events and personal circumstances open the true nature of our hearts. We are beginning to see who and what people truly believe in.

As you take some time to rest in the Lord think about the things that you are hearing from others that:

• sound great,
• have good intentions,
• seems to have a trend and following behind it,
• and feel good; But it is the direct opposite on how the Lord has called us to respond and live.

Also, do a check on the things you have believed and preached and see if it lines up with the Word of God. Ask the Lord to show you. Look it up and weigh it. If you are just wrong in some areas repent and ask the Lord to continue to transform your mind to the things of God. I exhort you to seek to please God only. Some will not understand. Many will walk away from you. However, if verse 10 of Galatians 1 does not shake you a little to stick with the Lord I do not know what else to say.

It is going to a struggle for many to not go with who and what seems popular. It’s going to be a struggle to not go along with the crowd when they are doing things that vex the Holy Spirit, but you want to belong. It is going to be a struggle for many to finally think for themselves and not have the media and others think for them for fear of doing what you believe and know to be right as it lines with God’s Word.

The struggle will be real but know that the Father in heaven is your perfect strength during these times. As you fight with everything in you and with every spiritual weapon to remove yourself from pleasing men, be encouraged knowing that the Lord will bless you with strength and peace. We have a freedom in Christ to follow and obey Him and not the world or our carnal nature.
