Rest is a Command

God calls every person to COME to HIM. It's a command for man and woman. Any reason that we may have for not coming to Him is an excuse.

I got a long to-do-list >>> excuse
My job is demanding >>> excuse
I got kids to care for >>> excuse
I got to clean my house >>> excuse
I can't get alone >>> excuse
I'm busy, busy, busy >>> excuse
My husband, my dog, my cat, my grandma >>> excuse, excuse, excuse!

When we draw near to God He will in turn draw near to us. We must make an effort to come to Him so that He will give us rest and also so we will find rest for our souls. This is not an option. If you want His peace, His freedom, His deliverance, His grace, and His joy we must COME TO HIM for REST.

When we fail to do this we have made every other thing the object of our affection and worship instead of the Father. Put away every thing that will cause you to take a passive approach to getting what you need for your soul. Take action and COME TO HIM. Fight for your REST!
